Morning Reds fans, and welcome to Liverpool transfer news live. The summer window is well and truly open for business, and there have already been plenty of high-profile deals completed throughout the Premier League.
Liverpool are off the mark, with Spanish winger Victor Munoz becoming manager Andoni Iraola's first signing for £34.5million.
He represents the club's only major piece of business so far. Liverpool are being linked with several stars by the day, however.
This week has seen Mexico star Gilberto Mora linked, while rumours of a swoop for Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola continue.
A deal for Yan Diomande looks to be off, following claims he would prefer a move to PSG. Yet names such as Eduardo Camavinga, Said El Mala, Ayyoub Bouaddi and Antonio Nusa are just a few players to be rumoured with a switch to Anfield so far, and it's only Wednesday.
Iraola is now hard at work assessing his team as the new season edges closer. Meanwhile, Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott are among the Liverpool players to have been linked with a move away from Anfield. Liverpool are reportedly keeping an eye on Australia youngster Lucas Herrington, who impressed during the World Cup this summer.
It's understood the club have sent scouts to watch the 18-year-old defender, who plays for MLS outfit Colorado Rapids. The teenager stepped up to take a spot kick in the Socceroos' last 32 penalty shoutout defeat to Egypt, and although his missed, his bravery caught the eye of Sweden legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
"I just want to reach out to Lucas Herrington," Ibrahimovic said on Fox Sport after the game. "You're 18 years old. You're young. This is just the beginning of your career.
"You stepping up there, you showed a lot of courage. Not everybody would do that... You are the best, don't listen to the rest."
Former Premier League star Robert Huth believes that Dortmund star Felix Nmecha would be an ideal signing for Liverpool.
Nmecha, who is rated at around £85million, was one of Germany's standout stars in an otherwise disappointing World Cup campaign. Huth, who won the Premier League with Leicester and Chelsea, has been singing the 25-year-old's praises, insisting his all-action style would make him a natural fit at Anfield.
"Felix Nmecha was one of the players that kind of stood out in the Germany team," Huth told Empire of the Kop. "He performed well; he kept winning the ball. I think he would suit Liverpool with Iraola as manager.
"I know how he likes the fast-flowing football, the quick turnaround, winning the ball high. Nmecha's been doing that in the World Cup, so whether they go for it or not, who knows, but he certainly's got a good ability."
Liverpool signing Victor Munoz says he's convinced that his style of football will suit the Premier League and that his decision to move to Anfield was the right one.
The Spaniard, who joined the Reds from Osasuna in a £34.5 million deal, became the first signing of the Andoni Iraola era. Munoz admitted the chance to work under his fellow countryman played a major role in his decision, insisting he is confident Iraola is the right manager to help him take his game to the next level.
"I think the Premier League is the right place for me because of my abilities and my style of play," Munoz said. "I think the next step was the right one.
"He [Iraola] gave me a glimpse into how his teams play, how it might suit me, how he likes his wingers to be wide, able to get to the byline, and hard-working. I made the right choice with that next step because those are characteristics I strongly identify with.
"His style of play, his pressing, how he wants to manage teams – I am a player who, because of my characteristics, could fit in, and that’s also why I took that step."
Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo reportedly remains firmly on Tottenham's radar.
The Netherlands international, who scored three times in four matches at the World Cup, was a regular under both Jurgen Klopp and Arne Slot, but with new manager Andoni Iraola looking to make additions in attack, his future at Anfield is uncertain.
Tottenham are long-time admirers of Gakpo and could push to sign him if Liverpool greenlight a departure. "Tottenham really appreciate Cody Gakpo from Liverpool," Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel.
"But in this case it will depend on what happens at Liverpool because, at the moment, doors for an exit are not open... But Tottenham keep thinking of Cody Gakpo after reshaping their midfield with Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali."
Alexis Mac Allister was at the heart of Argentina's dramatic round of 16 win over Egypt on Tuesday.
The Liverpool midfielder, who struggled at Anfield last season, has featured in every minute for his nation, bar the final group game against Jordan, when his country had already progressed as group winners.
One amusing aspect of the Liverpool star's competition has been the foul-mouthed sign-off on his recent social media posts. It's a combative attitude that Liverpool will desperately need from their influential midfielder next season, writes Ian Doyle. READ MORE HERE.
Harvey Elliott could find himself with a Liverpool lifeline this summer. With pre-season kicking off next week, Andoni Iraola was at the AXA Training Centre on Tuesday and Elliott, amongst others, will be given his time to impress after spending last season on loan at Aston Villa.
"For me, and I will tell them, [they] are all new signings. For me, you are all new signings and I think we have a lot of quality in our squad, and [I'm] really looking forward to working with them," Iraola said upon his unveiling as head coach.
With the Reds needing backup across their attack, Elliott could operate as a shrewd piece of business - if the Reds choose to retain him this summer. READ MORE HERE.
Legendary ex-Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is said to be open to a return to Premier League management after he was sacked by Panathinaikos.
Appearing on Jim White and Simon Jordan's show on talkSPORT, Benitez detailed the circumstances surrounding his exit from the Greek giants and hinted at a comeback to these shores, where he has managed the Reds, Everton, Newcastle and Chelsea.
"Remember, I was in Liverpool for six years, Newcastle three years and Chelsea seven-eight months," he said. "And we were successful in all these projects, but it seems that people have no patience now."
"And there are not too many teams in England, in the Premier League, that will say, 'OK, we'll go for him'.
"Because now, they go for the young coaches that play progressive football, these kind of things. But we are ready; we are ready for another challenge."
Ex-Leeds star Danny Mills believes Alexander Isak is will flourish under Andoni Iraola.
"It's a fresh start for Isak and an opportunity to kick off," Mills told Snabbare. "It didn't start well at Liverpool last year with the debacle around the transfer, not turning up for training, not being fit, and then picking up an injury.
"That snowballed throughout the season. It almost wrote the season off for him, and it goes back to not having a pre-season.
"When you aren't fit and go into high-intensity games, you pick up injuries. With a new start and a new manager, the manager will be looking at how to get the best out of him.
"The way Andoni Iraola played at Bournemouth probably suits him a little bit more. He looks to play with fast attacking pace in wide areas and down the middle, playing balls in behind.
"We have to look at the first few games of pre-season to see the style at Liverpool, but it may well suit Isak. He’s had a year there now.
"If he has a proper pre-season, he might be a different player this year. I wouldn't judge him overly harshly.
"You can judge him for the way he manufactured the move, which ultimately cost him form, but don't judge him solely on the form of last year because the circumstances were partly caused by himself."
Former Liverpool midfielder Fabinho says he would be open to signing for Real Madrid again if the opportunity arose.
The Brazilian left Liverpool in 2003 and now plays for Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.
He was asked by El Chiringuito TV about the possibility of rejoining Los Blancos, for whom he had a brief spell in 2013.
"Would I like to return to Real Madrid? Who wouldn’t like being at Real Madrid? It’s the best club in the world," he said.
Chelsea and Manchester City are trying to sign Lille attacker Ayyoub Bouaddi this summer, according to TeamTalk.
Liverpool have been linked with the 18-year-old Moroccan star. However, rumours are rife that he could set any potential suitor back around £116million.
Lille president Olivier Letang referenced the recent departures of Elliot Anderson (£116m to Manchester City) and Sandro Tonali (£100m to Tottenham Hotspur) as a benchmark for what a club might need to spend to capture Bouaddi.
Ex-Liverpool star John Barnes believes Andoni Iraola must guide the Reds to a top-three finish next season. He also believes the Basque will outshine Xabi Alonso and Michael Carrick at Chelsea and Man United, respectively.
“I’d say finishing in the top three," Barnes said via Betfred. "Finishing in the Champions League is the minimum requirement, but with Chelsea having a new manager and Manchester United, who did very well last season, I think Liverpool will do better than them both this year.
“I absolutely believe that finishing in the top three is achievable alongside Arsenal and Manchester City, but the fans need to believe in him and stick with him.”
Just where Mohamed Salah will play his football next is still unknown, months after leaving Liverpool.
However, with Egypt exiting the competition in heartbreaking - and somewhat controversial - fashion to world champions Argentina in a World Cup classic in Atlanta on Tuesday, attention is now expected to return to Salah's next destination.
Our Liverpool FC correspondent, Paul Gorst, has taken a closer look at where the ex-Reds hero could go next. READ MORE HERE.
Liverpool icon John Barnes says the Reds need to tie down Virgil van Dijk.
The Reds captain signed a two-year deal in 2025, but Barnes believes the club need to retain their senior players, having lost Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson this summer.
"I'd like to see Virgil’s contract being extended because for Andoni Iraola, he'll need his senior players," Barnes told Betfred.
"Those that have been around the block and know the club... so I think it’s important that we keep a hold of Virgil next season."
Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson managed to get booked and injured, despite not featuring for England in their 3-2 win over Mexico on Monday morning.
After taking a painful-looking fall over the ad boards, Henderson was said to need wrist surgery. He has now taken to his socials.
He said: “A night to remember that’s for sure! What an incredible performance against all the different challenges,” Henderson posted.
“So proud to be a part of this special team. Thanks for all the support, another big one Saturday.”
Argentina's 3-2 victory over Egypt was one of the best games of the World Cup so far. It was also full of centious moments.
Eyebrows were slightly raised when Egypt had a sublime goal ruled out. One member of Egypt's coaching staff was also dismissed for protesting.
Their manager, Hossam Hassan, was brandished a yellow card after repeatedly forming an 'X' with his arms - FIFA's recognised "No Racism Gesture".
Later, Salah and Mac Allister shared a warm embrace, despite the controversy. Read more about what happened in the game right here.
Ex-Liverpool defender Alvaro Arbeloa has been unveiled as the Fulham boss, taking over from Marco Silva.
Silva moved to Benfica a few weeks ago, while Arbeloa was available after being let go by Real Madrid, where he stood in for Xabi Alonso in the second half of last season.
This is his first appointment as a permanent head coach, rather than an interim one. Read more via our friends at Liverpool.com.
Liverpool and Arsenal are said to both still be keen on PSG winger Bradley Barcola. The Reds could have an advantage, however, as reports suggest the Gunners are eyeing a move for Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers instead. That's according to Fabrizio Romano.
France and England both remain in the World Cup and it is likely that those moves will only develop further once their participation comes to an end.
As some players made their way back for pre-season, there were a few new faces on show. Ifeanyi Ndukwe has joined up with the Reds after an agreement was reached earlier in the year to sign him from Austria Vienna in a deal worth an initial £2.6million.
The 18-year-old centre-back has already represented Austria at U19 level and played for them in the U17 World Cup final loss to Portugal last year.
Liverpool have been working to bolster their Academy options at both U21 and U18 level over recent months. And they will soon have another new centre-back on which to call with the signing of 16-year-old Dara Jikiemi from Celtic. Read more HERE about Ndukwe and others who are looking to make an impact at Liverpool this summer.
Argentina saw off Egypt in the World Cup last-16 on Tuesday evening. The defending world champions went 2-0 down against a Mohamed Salah-inspired Egypt.
It looked as though the unthinkable was set to happen and the three-time world champions would be heading home.
However, Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister was imperious as he helped drive Argentina on. Ultimately, Cristian Romero, Lionel Messi and Enzo Fernandez ensured their country would go through to the quarter-finals to face Switzerland on Sunday.
Afterwards, Mac Allister and Salah embraced on the pitch, touching the hearts of Reds everywhere. Aw.

Our latest sees PSG star Bradley Barcola encouraged to turn down the prospect of a lucrative move to Liverpool by a Premier League legend.

Wolves forward Mateus Mane has been told to stay where he is and turn down a move to Liverpool. The 18-year-old was a breakout star for the Midlands last season as they were relegated from the Premier League.
While Liverpool's links to Mane have quietened in recent months, the youngster is attracting attention.
Speaking via talkSPORT Bet, former Wolves star Don Goodman said: “Mateus Mané has only started 19 league games. He’s not ready for Liverpool just yet. He has undoubted talent and plays with a fearlessness that is great to watch, but he’s still very raw and even naive at times.
“If he went to Liverpool, I don’t think he’d get those minutes. Liverpool already have their own young talent, don’t they, in Rio Ngumoha? He’s actually even younger than Mané, so he would find himself down the pecking order to someone who is younger than him, I would think.
“I don’t think it would be a wise move right now. Of course, it’s a dream. Liverpool is an incredible club, one of the biggest in the world, and anyone would have their head turned if that option was on the table; but purely from a footballing perspective and for his own development, staying put is the best choice.”
It looks to be another busy morning transfer-wise, as Liverpool are said to have contacted Mainz midfielder Kaishu Sano. That's according to German outlet Fussballdaten.
Iraola's side are believed to be leading the race for the Japanese star, with Arsenal and Manchester United also said to be in the running.
The report suggests that Liverpool have already spoken to Sano's representatives to "explore personal terms and wage demands".
Arsenal have reportedly made a bid to try and beat Liverpool to the signing of Gilberto Mora, according to Azteca Puebla.
It's claimed that the Gunners are offering £18million to sign Mexico's breakout star of the World Cup, countering a reported offer of £17m from Liverpool.
Liverpool will start next season with a new manager and some new players as the door is shut on the Arne Slot era and a new one begins under Andoni Iraola.
A couple of new faces are already on their way in, and there will unquestionably be more to follow in the coming weeks once the World Cup has concluded. You can take a look at the full confirmed list of Liverpool ins and outs this summer so far.
Liverpool are reported to have enquired about Mexico star Gilberto Mora. Claims from Mexico say that the Reds have 'opened lines of communication' over the teenager who has impressed at the World Cup.
According to El Universal, Liverpool have reached out to Liga MX side Tijuana to ask about Mora’s situation. The report states that the Reds have contacted the player’s camp after Mexico’s elimination from the tournament at the hands of England. However, no offer has been made as of yet.
Liverpool look to be battling Arsenal in the race to sign Bradley Barcola this summer.
However, The Athletic have claimed that the Gunners have made Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers the "top priority" this summer, while the Reds have alternative names if a move for the PSG winger isn't made.
PSG are reportedly eyeing a huge fee for the winger, while former France and Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly has advised Barcola to stay put.
Liverpool have been linked, yet again, with a move for Norway and RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa. However, as with most players that the Reds are said to be in for this summer, they may face steep competition.
According to German outlet Fussballdaten, Premier League rivals Tottenham, who have been spending big this summer, are interested with a winger on the north London club's radar.
Ex-Liverpool manager Arne Slot could be set to reunite with several Liverpool stars, just weeks after he was dismissed from the club after an underwhelming second season in charge.
The coach is being eyed as a potential candidate for the Netherlands national team job, which would allow him to call up the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo, and Jeremie Frimpong for a reunion.
